Important since March 2011 the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has laid down new rules by which complementary therapists (including Acupuncturists) can now advertise their services.
It is now not allowed to use the word 'treat' or mention any medical condition that can be helped using acupuncture. Similarly, amongst other restrictions, it is now not allowed to use testimonials, or put in links to any research/medical organisations that support the use of acupuncture.
Note what therefore is contained within this website has been modified to take these restrictions into account.
What is Acupuncture?
Acupuncture is a system of complementary medicine involving the insertion of fine needles (acupuncture
needles) into the skin to harness 'Qi' energy (pronounced Chee) considered to be our vital life-force.
The aim being, that stimulation of the body’s own natural healing system will then provide the best conditions
by which wellbeing can be restored.
Why Five Element?
Five element acupuncture is a more ancient form
of Chinese Medicine based upon the elements of Nature
i.e. those of Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water.
This also takes into account their interactions
with each other and the philosophy that we are all
made up of these same building blocks,
with universal Qi providing the systems'
energy source.
So by ensuring your body becomes balanced
through acupuncture, the optimal condition
is then reached to allow natural healing to take place.
